We recommend using the following to sow the seeds:

    Easy/Adenium Obesum 'Desert Rose'

I sowed these seeds on 09/21/24 and I noticed 7 sprouts on 09/24/24. I followed the instructions provided with the seeds and waited. Super exciting!!! Hopefully waiting on the others to sprout but, if they don't I'm satisfied with the 7 that did that's a great germination rate for me!

    So much fun!

I found Plantflix when I Googled monstera seeds to buy as a fun winter project and now it's become a bit of an addiction buying more and more seeds! I planted coleus, eucalyptus & this desert rose 5 days ago and I've got so many babies coming up today! It's so exciting checking my seedling shelf every morning. Plantflix has fast shipping, the packaging is SO cute. Plus all the great information on the blog & videos on tiktok/YouTube. I've got even more seeds I want to try on my wishlist once I have more open space on my heat mats. The subscription boxes also look really fun! This is the first time I've ever tried growing seeds so if I can do it, you can too. (warning: you might become addicted)

Really an interesting plant. i had a 100%...

Really an interesting plant. i had a 100% germination rate, and a 20% stupidly rate so all but two are still alive and they are definitely the right seeds. They must be easy to grow, I didn't use any special pods i just used potting soil and a tray.
They're definitely one of the weirder seedlings I've had. Strange to see they immediately resemble the developed desert rose!
Great cute little packaging and awesome product and an exciting plant 10/10 yall.

    FAQs

how difficult are these seeds to grow?

Houseplant seeds are generally trickier to grow than your more common garden seed varieties- they require a specific setup and more time to sprout. You can find the difficulty for each seed variety specified under the "about the seeds" tab on each product page.

We definitely recommend following the setups outlined in our seed guide here, and you can find further details in our blog!

Houseplant seeds take longer than most seeds to germinate, the average time for germination is 2-3 weeks. If you're curious about the sprouting time for a specific seed variety, you can find that information in the "about the seeds" tab on each product page.

how do I grow houseplant seeds?

All of our orders come with a basic starter guide for you to follow, but our seed guide here goes in much more detail and also offers alternative seed starter methods.

We also include additional planting tips specific to each seed variety under the "instructions" tab of each product page. If you need extra help, don't hesitate to reach out to us at hello@plantflix.com!

my seeds aren't germinating, what do I do?

Houseplant seeds are tricky, and sometimes certain more difficult varieties can take some practice to finally get them to sprout!

If you're having trouble with the seeds, you're not alone. Luckily there are ways to sometimes salvage seeds by adjusting the setup- this quiz can help diagnose any issues you may have with your setup and make suggestions for how to improve it.

You can also email us at hello@plantflix.com and we can help out! If the seeds still aren't germinating, we'll send out a replacement :)
